Ureterolithiasis
Ureterolithiasis is a condition in which stones grow and lodge in the ureter, leading it to become blocked.
The ureter is a muscular tube that links the kidney to the bladder and transports urine from the kidneys to the bladder.
Ureter stones are usually formed in the kidneys and then move into the ureter.
The stone may move down to the bladder without difficulty, or it may partially or fully obstruct the ureter, causing dilatation of the upper region of the ureter and subsequent kidney injury, depending on its size and form.
The type of stone varies depending on the breed, age, and sex of the cat.
Some cats with ureterolithiasis don't show any symptoms at all, especially in the early stages.
Otherwise, keep an eye out for symptoms such as pain, kidney failure, and enlargement or shrinkage of the kidney.
