Ticks and Fleas
Ticks and fleas are a cat owner's worst nightmare.
Like lice in humans, Ticks and fleas are microscopic parasitic bugs that live on the animal's skin and feed on its blood.
When fleas and ticks bite, germs and viruses enter the animal's bloodstream and can cause various diseases.
Ticks, for instance, can induce tick bite fever in cats, which can be deadly.
Fleas can cause anaemia in your cat.
Ticks are more visible than fleas because they are larger.
Fleas are little and jump a lot, making them more difficult to notice.
If your cat is scratching himself persistently, has small black dots on his skin, or has patches of red, irritated skin, you should properly examine him for an infestation.
Inform your vet about this before bringing your cat in to prevent the infestation from spreading.
