Pneumonia (Interstitial)
Pneumonia is an inflammation of the lungs in cats.
Meanwhile, interstitial pneumonia is a type of pneumonia in which inflammation develops in the walls of the cat's alveoli (air cells) or the interstitial (the spaces between the tissue cells of the alveoli).
The alveoli are cellular components of the cat's airway, responsible for the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide.
The severity of the condition affects the symptoms.
Tachypnoea, coughing, dyspnoea, moderate fever, and ocular discharge are some of the symptoms that may manifest in the cat.
Toxins, for instance, might cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea, and decreased urine production.
